As of 2025, Morocco is experiencing a surge of ambitions across various sectors, including the fashion industry. While the country has historically been known for its traditional clothing, contemporary designers are now demonstrating a remarkable range of creativity and diversity.
One of the key fashion events in Morocco is Tanger Fashion Week, which acts as a significant platform for designers and fashion enthusiasts to connect and showcase the latest movements in Moroccan fashion.
Founded by Hind Joudar, the French Moroccan businesswoman with strong visions for global recognition, Tanger Fashion Week has gained prominence under the lead.
The 2025 edition of the event aimed to have a lasting impact by expanding Morocco's fashion narrative internationally.
For this year’s event, the organizers focused on attracting a diverse array of designers across generations and collaborated with Le Marché Des Créateurs de Tanger to establish a shopping zone at Palais Moulay Hfid in Tangier, allowing attendees to engage with artists and artisans while exploring fashion.
The event attracted attention from both national media outlets and international press, including the Italian Fashion Channel.
Notable bloggers and magazine editos like MerieM from Classy Addiction, Joe Challita from Marie Claire Arabia, and Tanja Beljanski from L'Officiel Arabia created visual and written content to connect with audiences who could not attend.
International contributors included Laurent Lukic from Colombe Production, REDA, and Paul Tomasini, who provided full visual coverage, while the Moroccan side included Soufiane Benkmil produced enchanting promotional video content, and Naima MB for Morocco Mag.
We Prod contributed to the event's engaging atmosphere, and Maymana managed the culinary experiences.
The models were coordinated by Brahim Rachiki, Yulan Graff, and Gil Tardieu throughout the week.
The opening day of Tanger Fashion Week on June 11 included rehearsals, photoshoots, and backstage interactions.
On June 12, a private group of impacting people visited the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Hearing Impaired Children and Youth, where Chef Raffael Rego led a culinary workshop.
The foundation was honored as the guest for this edition.
The evening featured a charitable gala with a fashion show by the renowned French jewelry brand Chopard, presenting exquisite jewelry alongside a new collection of gowns by Caroline Scheufele.
Celebrities such as Moroccan actress Mayssa Maghrebi and British actor Luke Evans were in attendance, both recognized for their social and humanitarian commitments.
On June 13, the first lineup of designers was introduced, prominently featuring the Accademia Di Moda Nazareth, which showcased over 10 designs under the leadership of Saher Okal.
The event kicked off with presentations by Vivienne Westwood, featuring both prêt-à -porter and couture collections that retained the designer's signature rebellious femininity.
Moroccan designers, including Mina Binebine, Nouha Senhaji, and Salma Atiar, presented innovative interpretations of Moroccan attire, while Wafaa Idrissi, Ramadi Urban Beldi, and Zoubida Sbai highlighted the elegance of traditional caftans.
Fresh appearances included Tunisian designer Hala with her brand Koufia, known for combining natural fibers with Arabic calligraphy, and Kazakhstan’s Sabina Volkaya, who showcased a children's fashion collection alongside charismatic models.
Sisters Zineb and Ghita showcased their jewelry brand AYLA JEWELS, featuring Moroccan-inspired silver designs.
The shows wrapped up with Veve Designs, who presented vibrant colors and dance elements reflecting an Italian influence blended with a Marrakesh lifestyle.
The final day of fashion shows on June 14 showcased the craftsmanship of established designers, especially in traditional Moroccan fashion. RENATA opened the presentations with captivating displays of luxurious fabrics and intricate caftans.
Hind Berrada introduced a youthful take on traditional styles, merging Makhzania cuts with Western influences.
Houda Serbouti brought a different flair to Moroccan traditional fashion with subtile curvy silhouettes, akin to evening gowns, while Amina Benzekri, a recognized figure in Moroccan couture, displayed vintage caftans collected from her family heritage.
Zineb Hazim traveled from Italy to present her collection, which embodied themes of strength and resilience, demonstrated through model presentations.
Hindi Mahdi offered a collection inspired by traditional Palestinian fashion, further enriching the diverse showcase at Tanger Fashion Week.
Maisa Alian closed Tanger Fashion Week with a captivating 3D collection that set her apart from other designers. Her creativity and imagination truly know no bounds.
