Taha, a.k.a. El Grande Toto, has emerged as the most sought-after artist at the 20th edition of the Mawazine Festival. This remarkable Moroccan rapper embarked on his journey before turning 20, driven by an unwavering determination to achieve his dreams, regardless of how long it would take.
There’s a saying that emphasizes choosing quality over quantity, yet Taha is a shining example of an artist who embodies both. He has consistently delivered exceptional work, beginning with his first album and extending to international collaborations, never missing a beat. His dedication is evident; whether performing at 6 am or 6 pm, his tireless efforts have propelled him to his current stature.
With over half a million attendees at his 2025 Mawazine concert, Taha has reached a remarkable milestone, one that many international artists aspire to but often fall short of. While the 21st of June is known as La Fête De La Musique, in Morocco this year, the celebration resonated on the 28th of June.
Moroccans once again demonstrated their profound love for local artists, outpacing attendance for famous international stars, and the dwindling crowd after El Grande Toto's performance speaks volumes. OLM Souissi is the premier stage at the Mawazine Festival, and performing there signifies an artist’s immense desirability.
The audience, largely comprised of Moroccans from home and abroad, included travelers who flew in specifically for Taha’s show, alongside diverse attendees from other nationalities. In a heartwarming gesture, Taha expressed his gratitude to his fans by spontaneously holding a private concert during rehearsal, responding to the wave of fans who arrived hours early by performing one of his hit tracks.
This young artist has not only impacted the music scene but also put Morocco on the global map, celebrating Moroccan rap and honoring a range of local artists from different generations at the conclusion of his show.
